Plenty of overtime if you are willing to work. However, it is one of those places where they don’t care what the bad workers are doing. Managers holding drivers accountable is non existent. They only want to have drivers on shifts other than theirs, blamed and disciplined. All tractors including the spotter trucks have forward and driver facing cameras. Yes, they are picky with spotter trucks They claim it is by incident, but this is untrue. Preventative maintenance is not in Ventures vocabulary on this account. Drivers are not held accountable if they trash the interior of the truck or leave you with a flat tire, even though they “post tripped” and stopped working 15 minutes before their shifts ends to do so. You can be pulled off one account and told to work with another one. This is unfair to drivers that are told they will stay in Lafayette, then have to run a load somewhere else in the state or next state over. You can be pulled from your shuttle position and told to spotter another account and can be disciplined if you say no. If other workers do not do their job and cause you to do more work, that is ok with management. This is an example of bad workers not being held accountable. There is waiting list of good drivers waiting to go to first shift. However, bad drivers are being catered to on first shift and good drivers are told to be quiet and wait. You pull Subaru parts and the pay (for what you do) can be pretty decent. Speaking of hourly, they got two raises and the second helped a lot of the guys with tenure giving them more money than a new guy. They swapped over to a mileage pay system instead of a minimum guarantee. This hurt some drivers pay but gave a real motive to get them to run extra loads. I’m not too experienced in knowing how other companies run but from experienced drivers with the company, they tend to say it’s great. ![]() Not having to drive otr (Over the Road) and being home everyday is a good thing for Homelife but not a lot of the guys with this company think this way.Īnyways as for management. There can be drama, rude people (not just driver managers but the drivers themselves), inability to maintain accountability for things like truck keys, and poor shop management. sometimes! I’ve seen trucks get passed for pm inspections but have no tread (less than 2/32 of an inch on some tires) with known issues to different parts of the trucks. But as for me, the guys have always been awesome in the shop.
